Discussion of GBB (gas blowback) replicas.

HFC22? Green Gas? Top Gas? HFC134a? Duster Gas? Propane? Huh?

Postby Maven » Fri Sep 16, 2005 8:18 pm

Okay, I've searched the forums and I've googled my eyes out, but I'm not finding any kind of clear answer.

What are the diffrences and advantages between all of these types of gas?

HFC22?
Green Gas?
Top Gas?
HFC134a?
Duster Gas?
Propane?

Why I am wondering.

I am interested in purchacing a WE HI-CAPA GBB and This auction says that the WE HI-CAPA should only use HFC22. What would happen if I were to use the wrong type of gas in the WE HI-CAPA?

Also.

This is one of the cans of Green Gas that I have, the problem is that it doesn't say if it is HFC22 or HFC134a. Can anyone here tell me which it is?

Green is 22.

Okay, so that's most of the question down.

Now for the rest.

What's the difference between these?

Green Gas
Top Gas
HFC134a
Duster Gas
Propane

I assume with duster gas you must add silicone to the weapon every time because most other airsoft gas is made to lubricate as you fire.

Red gas is the most powerfull, green gas works in most gas weapons.

Also, like Bill said, green is 22, as in they are the same. So slim down your list.

Propane and Green are basically the same thing. Green Gas has lube in it, you need to add it to the propane. I seem to get a little better FPS out of propane too.

The can of HFC134a I have classifies it as Green, and all the manuals and websites I see for my GBB say that HFC22 will damage my gun since it is too powerful, so yes, I'd say that HFC134a is a weaker green gas.

ANd what about the WE HI-CAPA? Anyone know if it is a decent gun? I've read about 5 reviews of it and they all say it's a good gun, but I'd like to know if anyone here has had real experiance with it?

134a is for plastic body gbb's and green, 22, propane are primarily used for gbb's that have metal slide that can handle the higher pressure without breaking parts. any tm gun is designed to use 134a but like WE, KWA, are designed to use green.

Actually WA is designed with enough presition that they use 134.

Using Propane or 22 in a WA can cause problems.

that is the issue with the Maruzen mp5k
