CQC Event Part 2: Registration FULL!

Gunny wrote:CQC Event, Part 2

When: Sunday, April 10, 2005. 8am to 8pm
Where: The Place To Shoot, 904 N.Hayden Meadows Drive, Portland, OR 97217
Who: Ages 18+ can form teams of 4-8.
Cost: $26 before April 7, 2005. $35 at the door.

This event will consist of at least 3 events. One will be a Fire, Move, Transition event that will be run team-v-team, with the top shooters from each team competing against each other in a second round.

There will be at least two entry scenarios.

Last time was a blast. This time will be even better. We have more actors, more scenarios drafted, and I have some new tricks up my sleeve.

There will be a CQC class offered by Team PACT prior to this event. I highly suggest it.

There will be a class and team practice on Saturday, April 9 from 10-2. Cost is $15 per person at the door.

Reply to this thread if you have any questions and/or plan on attending. I know I will be there helping represent APST.

There's a rule modification. Teams can have a maximum size of 9 members.

You must be 18 or older to attend. You can't even set foot in the waiting room if you are under 18. There are no exceptions.

Not as we had them before, we need to maintain our signup lists within the forums instead. We can keep a list in the first post of the confirmed teams and payment details if need be. (paid or unpaid)

The same performance standards we use now, though lowering your FPS might be nice, it is not required.

All participants MUST WEAR fully sealed eye protection, a balaclava or full mask, or full face wrap, and gloves that enclose the hand and fingers fully.

About this type of game: By attending this game, you are accepting a certain amount of risk. I don't think it's a significant risk, personally, but you ARE agreeing to participate in an event where you could be engaged from 2-3 feet away with an upgraded AEG. It's not LIKELY, but it is POSSIBLE. These are what I like to call "Big People Rules".

Don't want the risk? Then don't come. That simple.

There will be a DETAILED safety brief with thespecific Do's and Don'ts that will begin at 8am SHARP. I suggest you arrive early.

Warm Hints:

Those of you who played last time remember that I spent a good deal of time throwing Curve Balls at you all day, and generally trying to ensure that your missions didn't go as planned.

Guess what... I'm going to do it again!

Make sure that you have a few things planned out before you even show up on Sunday.

1. Make sure you have a DEFAULT entry plan for a 1 and 2 external door structure. That means that by default, everyone knows how to clear a generic stucture if there's no floor plan. I suggest you do this by breaking your squads down into elements, and break the internal doors up counter clockwise starting at the far right corner of the room. Assign each door a number, and give one element responsibility for odd numbers, another all of the even numbers.

2. Make sure that you have alternate comms. Remember the helos? :D

3. READ THE AAR LOCATED HERE.

4. Ensure that EVERY entry plan has a primary and alternate breaching method.

5. Remember to provide 3 dimensional security.

Admin Notes:
There will be a class given by OAA on April 2nd. The cost of the admission plus the class is $25. I advise you to take the course.

Either I or JLL will give a class, with some practice time on April 9, from 10-2. Initially, I stated it would be $15. That is no longer the case. OAA charges $20 admission to pay the rent on the building, therefore I will give the class for $20, all of which will go towards OAA to pay the rent. I will be paying this fee myself, and I'm giving the course! This fee is IN ADDITION to the fee for the game on the 10th. The place costs money per day to use. If you wish to phony pony about the cost, then keep it to yourself and don't attend on the 9th. IT REALLY IS THAT EASY.

I hope to have a few CQC Jedi's on hand to evaluate the practice sessions.

No word on what kind of raffle prizes will be given away as of yet.

Thanks!

Payment/roster updates were posted above. If you are planning to attend, please get me your roster list ASAP. We need to start figuring out how many bodies we're going to have in there. I need updated lists from the Reich and EATF. Also, if you are putting together a team and you aren't listed here, let me know! Once you have your rosters finalized, please encourage your members to pay as early as possible, it gives us a chance to plan ahead for extra props or raffle prizes.
