Best STOCK spring sniper riflefor under $200. NO GAS

Postby malik » Tue Oct 12, 2010 5:39 pm

I want to get a bolt-action rile for some fun plinking. Nothing serious for a major skirmish. Just something to maybe nail a friend or two from a bit farther or harder than his stock aeg.

In other words, about 200ft accuracy, 400+fps.

Thinking about a UTG of some kind? JG Bars are too hard to find it seems. So if UTGs are any good I'll settle for them maybe.
We want 'em to know if they're gonna leave a bomb on the side of the road, first, we're just gonna blow up their little f**kin road.

So.... a UTG L96, TSD M700, or a JW M24? JG Bars are just too hard too find

My friend has had a UTG L96 for a long time in stock form.

It shoots decently strait- although it is super bulky compared to my VSR. Still a fun plinking weapon though.

the m700 is vsr compatable, so if you're eventualy going to bump it up thats what i'd go with, the utg is upgradeable, but the parts are fairly proprietary i've heard, so it may not be the best choice unless you actually want the l96. the JW is upgradeable with someones parts i believe, and is otherwise fairly unique in that it's body design seperates it from the other m700s, it also appears to be fairly capable stock. also, i just saw GI has a scope package for it.
forgive my ignorance, it happens to everyone.

The JW m24 is completely compatible with APS2 parts. It has a bolder, or "girthy-er" stock, which if you are a bigger guy like so, will be alot better. Also, has an adjustable stock. I have a vsr clone, and I actually made the comment that the grip was to thin for man hands before the JW came out. The thicker stock will give you a better grip on the gun, and, I would assume, give you a more stable shooting platform when shooting standing offhand. All personal choice in that subject. And I had a L96 for a while, but thought it was to bulky. It is just about perfectly square, and horribly tall, although the vertical grip gives a comfy grasp on the gun.

no quigs. the JW is compatible with all APS2 parts and the TSD & L96 are upgradable with vsr10 parts.

Even though this is a great gun out of the box it can still be made even better with APS2 upgrade parts! Our master tech Frank has tested APS2 upgrade parts in this M24 and they perform flawlessly. If you're ready to be deadly from long range then you have to check out the Javelin Works M24.

Yeah. I watched that video, yet forgot most of it. As soon as I took a look at the trigger box, its easy to tell its APS2.

You're about... forever late to that news. I've handled one. It feels like any other bolt action.
